As the weather starts to cool down and rainy days become rare, May is the perfect month to get out and about and take advantage of the crisp Autumn air.


With Mother's Day and Labour Day both being in May, there’s a lot going on in Brisbane’s South East suburbs this month.


We’ve got you covered - from festivals to food markets there is something everyone will like in our top five events to attend in May.


Stones Corner Festival

WHEN: Sunday May 6th 12:00pm - 10:00pm

WHERE: Corner of Logan Road & Old Cleveland Rd - Hub of Stones Corner


Back by popular demand for the fifth year in a row, The Stones Corner Festival will kick start your month and long weekend with a bang!


The festival has announced a rockin’ lineup including Custard, The Mavis’s, Screamfeeder, Diana Anaid, Shag Rock and many more iconic local musicians.


Of course all of your favourite food trucks will be there as well as market stalls and fun for the kids, including a jumping castle and a petting zoo.


Described as one of Brisbane’s best street parties, this festival is not to be missed.

Brunch and Bubs Carindale

WHEN: Every Tuesday in May 9:30am to 11:30am

WHERE: Westfield Carindale, The Studio


Are you a parent with a newborn baby and really need to relax, but get out all at the same time?


Brunch & Bubs at Westfield Carindale is the perfect place to do this.


Mingle with other parents, meet new friends and relax while you enjoy a light morning tea.


The little ones will also be entertained with age appropriate toys provided.


So grab a coffee and your bub and head down for some quality time!

Whites Hill Reserve Bushwalk

WHEN: Sunday May 13th 8:00am - 10:00am

WHERE: Meet near the public toilets. Entry via Boundary Road.


Join the Bulimba Creek Catchment Coordinating Committee for a bush walk through the ever so popular, Whites Hill Reserve.


These walks are open to anyone and are slow-paced, with stops being made regularly to admire the beautiful surrounds.


Followed by a delicious morning tea, it’s the perfect morning to mingle with fellow community members and take in the crisp smell of fresh bush air.

Town Square Live Entertainment

WHERE: Westfield Garden City

WHEN: Every Thursday, Friday and Saturday in May 5:30pm - 8:30pm


If you’re into a more low key vibe for your outing, head down to Garden City and enjoy some live music.


Held in the main outdoor food court, you can grab a bite and a casual drink from one of the many different restaurants, while your ears are filled with beautiful sounds from different solo artists, DJ’s or Saxophone players.


The atmosphere is perfect for a chilled, music filled night out with friends and family.

Mount Gravatt Marketta

WHEN: Every Saturday 4pm - 9pm

WHERE: Mt Gravatt Showgrounds, Logan Road, Mt Gravatt.

Mount Gravatt Marketta is an extremely popular street food market that the local communities have fallen in love with!
