#HumansofBrisbane - Michael Fox, member of the Mount Gravatt Environment Group

From a very young age, Michael Fox had a passion for bushland and wildlife.

Now, he’s a well-known community member who’s committed to restoring the Mount Gravatt Recreational Reserve alongside the Mount Gravatt Environmental Group.

Michael and his wife purchased a home at the bottom of the hill that backs directly onto the reserve.

“When I walked out the back of our house for the first time and saw the bush, we fell in love,” he says.

Since that day, he’s been working hard with neighbours and members of the environmental group to restore Mount Gravatt Mountain back to its original and untouched way.

They’ve planted trees, pulled out a lot of weeds, put up nest boxes, researched unique animal species and through all of this, they’ve educated the community.

We had a coffee with Michael to hear about why he loves being apart of the Mount Gravatt Environmental Group.
