Styling is the perfect way to show off your home to potential buyers.

It gives buyers a feeling of luxury and, more than anything, shows them how the home will look and feel with their furniture inside.

From lack of clutter, clean and well-executed furniture and accessories, there are many ways you can make a styled space feel like a home.

Specialising in styling homes for sale, Shane Calvino gives us a rundown of how you can best spruce up your home to attract the buyer's eye.

Tip 1: Bright

If the room is dark, use light materials to make the space feel brighter.

Shane says that with bedrooms, she always starts with white as the base colour and adds to it from there.

White feels clean and luxurious, and it’s sure to entice buyers in.

Tip 2: Add Colours

Once you’ve got your base, add some pops of colour.

Shane says you can even carry your colour palette between rooms.

You can do this by altering the shades you use across rooms, which creates consistency and flow throughout the house.

Tip 3: Layers

Once you’ve removed all clutter from the styled space, layers help to make a room feel lush and decadent.

Whether you add extra blankets and pillows to a bed, or cushions and a throw to the couch, it’s easy to up-the-ante in your home.

Tip 4: Finishing Touches

Finally, don’t forget to add the finishing touches like ornaments, books and maybe a tray with wine glasses.

Everyone has trinkets, but styled homes have specific pieces that match and tie the space together.

From lamps to a drinks tray (Shane’s personal suggestion for adding opulence), these are must-haves when styling your home!
