With four popular schools in Kenmore and many more daycares, it’s no wonder the suburb is made up of 80% families.

Kenmore is widely recognised as a leafy and suburban location in Brisbane’s west. Situated on the river with a median house price of $687,000, this affordable suburb offers many wonderful options for raising a family.

Local mum Dimity Bosci has raised five children in Kenmore with her husband, and they’ve been living in the area for over ten years.

“We have been really happy here; the kids went to kindy and primary in Kenmore and then have moved not far from here for high school,” Dimity says.

Kenmore State School, Our Lady of the Rosary School and Kenmore South State School are the three primary schools in the area. With at least five daycares within close proximity, there are also plenty of options for caregivers with little ones.

Kenmore and Kenmore South State Schools offer excellent sport and music programs as extracurricular activities and their curriculums are renowned around the western suburbs for excellence in education.

Our Lady of the Rosary is a Catholic primary school offering options for both educational and spiritual development. It offers schooling from prep to year 6. Students can continue on to other Catholic high schools in the nearby suburb of Indooroopilly like Ambrose Treacy or Brigidine College.

If students are heading to high school, Kenmore State High School is the local high school in the catchment. However, there are also many other high schools close by which are easily accessible by bus.

With fantastic public transport options getting children safely to school, it makes sense that families with both working and stay-at-home parents choose to live in Kenmore. Parents can then commute to the city or elsewhere around Brisbane using the same public transport network, or the close by Centenary Highway.

Dimity says she loves Kenmore because of the local facilities and the knowledge that it's a safe suburb to raise kids.

"The kids can play in the neighbourhood with their friends and walk to and from bus stops and schools.”

"We like it!"
