A Recap of Brisbane’s Biggest On–Site Auction Event

Friday May 5, 2023 ● By Rachel Sanft // Place Estate Agents

On Saturday, April 29, Place Estate Agents held THE DAY: A historic event for Brisbane Real Estate consisting of 80 Auctions held in one day, right across the city.

Described by Chief Auctioneer, Peter Burgin, as ‘one of the most significant days that has occurred in the Place Network’, thousands traveled across Brisbane to spectate properties sell under the hammer and experience Place Auctions difference.

From one-bedroom units to luxury pads, the variety of properties on offer was diverse and received a great reaction, showcasing that there truly was a property for everyone and demand remains strong for residential Real Estate in Brisbane.

After the event, a total of 47 properties sold under the hammer, translating into a significantly successful clearance rate of 61%. This result is expected to climb as negotiations continue and properties go under contract.

The number of registered bidders per Auction came to 6, which we believe is an equally important parameter for success when it comes to Auctions. It reflects how many parties are prepared to purchase a home under auction conditions.

A significant component when delivering Place Auctions is the industry-exclusive, Place Auction Patrol, who were prominent on-site at all Auctions throughout THE DAY. Whether it be displaying property in a way that streets and individuals afar take notice, creating a lively yet comfortable atmosphere, providing cold refreshments, or ensuring registrations run seamlessly, vendors on THE DAY were given the best possible chance at sale success.

Saturday’s outcome displayed the efficiency and strategic advantage that this sales method provided to Brisbane’s ever-so-prominent market. Place continues to challenge the market, specifically on THE DAY, with a level of volume that has not been seen in some time and through the uniqueness of having the majority of auctions on-site.
