Here’s What You Should do With Your Window Finishings

We’ve sure you’ve been told, when it comes to selling your home, a makeover can help make all the difference.

From floor to ceiling, styling your home for sale can really help capture the eye of potential buyers.

Phoebe Shorter from Foxy Home Staging says not everyone considers the smaller details.

“A lot of the time, clients question what they should do with their curtains when styling their home,” says Phoebe.

Phoebe gives us three things to consider when it comes to managing your window furnishings at sale time. Check it out!

Tip 1:

The first thing to look at is the condition of your current curtains.

Are they dirty, old, tattered or worn? If so, the best thing to do is get rid of them.

From there, we would recommend not replacing them and keeping the windows fresh and open.

Tip 2:

If your curtains are in good condition, then it’s best to work with them to make the most of them.

It’s important to make sure the curtains aren’t blocking too much natural light.

Curtains are such a personal choice, so they’re not necessarily going to add value to your home when it comes to selling. So there’s not much point in replacing them.

Tip 3:

Tie in the colour of your curtains subtly with the styling in the room.

With your bed linen, use a white, neutral base and bring the the colours from the curtains with the use of cushions and throws.
