Exciting new Brisbane openings 2022

Promising to make 2022 a beauty, a slew of new openings around Brisbane have us looking forward to the year ahead. Three words – watch this space!

Scarborough Harbour Brewing Company

Brisbane is certainly no stranger to a brewery, but we’re excited to clink chilled schooners at the soon-to-be-opened Scarborough Harbour Brewing Company in the new year!

Positioned next to the much-loved Morgan’s Seafood and overlooking the sparkling harbour, the new Redlands brewery will feature a taproom serving tasty bites and SHBC’s refreshing brews. A glass of lager straight from the source, mouth-watering food and stunning water views – what more could we ask for?

New Performing Arts Venue

Currently scheduled to be completed by the end of 2022, South Bank’s aptly named New Performing Arts Venue will be an exciting new addition to the city’s cultural scene.

Boasting a minimum 1,500-seat theatre, new studios and a striking modern design, the multi-million-dollar project will accompany the iconic Queensland Performing Arts Centre and help showcase local and international talent. Enjoying a night at the theatre is about to get even more glamorous…

Batters Cricket Club

If this year’s summer of cricket has you all geared up to play a match in the backyard, elevate the experience and book a ticket for this exciting pop-up South Bank bar when it opens in January.

Run by the clever crew behind Tinseltown and The Potion Putt – A Wizardry Mini Golf Course, Hidden’s Batters Cricket Club will invite you to enjoy classic barbecue fare while testing your batting skills against an AI simulator. Expect craft beers, classic cocktails and plenty of sporting action.

Sushi Room at The Calile

Brisbane foodies, mark your calendars for March. Hellenika and SK Steak & Oyster’s famed owner, Simon Gloftis, is adding another James Street venue to his list of incredible offerings when he opens Sushi Room at The Calile Hotel mid-2022.

Promising a refined menu focusing on quality, the high-end Japanese restaurant will specialise in delectable sushi and sashimi. There’ll also be larger dishes available, as well as an indulgent 18-course two-hour omakase lead by ex-kiyomi sous chef Shimpei.

La Luna Beach Club

A little further afield, the Gold Coast’s new La Luna Beach Club will definitely be worth the trip down the M1. Bringing a slice of Mediterranean-inspired heaven to the famed Mirana Mirage, the luxurious floating venue will include a sun-drenched lounge with sunbeds, beach umbrellas and swaying palms. Delicious drinks, breathtaking sunsets, live DJ sets and fresh fare will add to La Luna’s appeal.

The restaurant will throw open its doors in January, with the adjoining beach club set to follow soon after in early 2022. Get your best swimsuit ready and prepare to feel as if you’re a Below Deck star.
