As Chief Financial Officer at Place Estate Agents, Michael Scholz leads the financial operations of the business and oversees the strategic direction of the finance function across the network.
With more than 20 years of experience in finance across the mining, travel, and real estate sectors, Michael is a commercially minded leader with a passion for driving performance and supporting business growth. He has held senior finance roles in large national organisations, including as Financial Controller for Escape Travel, where he led a team supporting over 120 offices and played a key role in the brand’s global recognition at the FCTG Awards.
Michael brings this depth of experience to his role at Place, where he has grown the internal finance team significantly and introduced efficient, scalable systems that support both corporate and office-level operations. Under his leadership, the finance function provides accurate reporting, compliance, business insights, and end-to-end financial services – all designed to empower office owners, agents, and stakeholders to make informed decisions.
With a strong personal interest in property and firsthand experience as a Place client, Michael understands the needs of both business owners and buyers. His approach combines strategic oversight with a commitment to delivering operational excellence.
