Said to be named for the sight of the morning sun catching the banks of the river, Morningside is a highly sought-after residential suburb located along Wynnum Road, Brisbane.
Morningside was first settled in early 1870 and was used for mainly agriculture including dairy, sugarcane and tobacco production. Morningside was once a rural area before it became a popular residential area during the post-war boom. Today, Morningside is a buzzing suburb filled with state-of-the-art amenities, local attractions, rich history and an excellent community feel.

Another historical site in Morningside is located at 580 Wynnum Road, which is the Morningside Air Raid Shelter. The Air Raid Shelter is an important site in demonstrating the evolution of Queensland history.
