Proudly wearing his service medals & badges, slouch hat and distinctive green and yellow Army Apprentice tie, war veteran, Brian Daley, shares the meaning of Anzac Day in a park close to his heart, Bulimba Memorial Park.

Brian has a long history of service - he joined the Army Apprentices Association in 1959 at age 15 where he received training in mechanics, worked as a Truck & Tank Mechanic for the army and spent 20 years in the reserve.

Since then, Brian has become involved in Anzac Day in his local suburb, Bulimba.

As part of the Cannon Hill District & Veterans RSL Club, Brian helps coordinate the annual Dawn Service in Morningside and the March and Service in Bulimba’s Memorial Park.

Brian shares what Anzac Day means to him and the importance of the ceremony held here in Memorial Park this Tuesday April 25.

“Anzac Day is a day to pay respect to all those who served our country.

It also remembers those who stayed home and suffered the thoughts of not knowing whether their loved ones lived or died,” says Brian.
